Course Content

Text Analysis and Writing

This course aims to develop students’ ability to become professional writers and to adapt technical information to the target audience. It provides in-depth knowledge on explaining technical contexts and complex information in a way that ensures clear understanding.

Information Design

This course provides a foundation in technical communication, explaining technology by combining text, images, and structured data effectively. It covers theory in information design, topic-based writing techniques, information mapping, and input/documentation analysis.

Tools and Systems for a Technical Communicator

The goal of this course is for students to learn how to work with various IT systems and tools used by technical communicators. The course provides basic knowledge of XML, Paligo, and video production for use in technical documentation.

English for Technical Communicators

In this course, students practice their skills to become professional technical writers. They develop their language proficiency and gain deeper knowledge in technical English, including Simplified Technical English and its applications.

Technical Illustration

The goal of this course is for students to learn how to create technical illustrations. They gain knowledge in producing informative visuals of technical products and functions, and in analyzing visual requirements to adapt their work for specific audiences and contexts.

Project Management

The course aims to develop students’ ability to participate in, as well as lead, projects related to the work of a technical communicator.
Students gain knowledge in project work, project management, and project methods and models relevant to the profession.
