I just bought two new books I wanted to share with you.
The first book is a called The Art of Mondo. Based in Austin, Texas, Mondo is an art gallery and online store devoted to the love of film, art, music, and collectibles. Over the years, the company has made these incredible art posters that bring to life classic films, television shows, and comics in a refreshing and utterly striking new way. And now they have collected all the posters in a big damn book. This book is a dream come true and I fullheartedly recommend it.
House Industries has been graphic design heroes to me for a long time. These are the guys who created my all time favorite font; Neutraface, for example. They do design, illustrations, fonts and everything between heaven and earth that they think is cool and inspires them.
So when I found out that House Industries had come out with a book I just had to have it. And I am very glad I bought it because not only is their book; The Process is the Inspiration, a beautiful book but it is such a happy book. It is about their work but also about the inspiration and process.
Books like these are unfortunately always expensive but this is money well spent if you like art books and graphic design. I am so happy I bought the both of them.
